MAED: School Counseling w/ Pupil Personnel Services Credential

The MAED with an emphasis in School Counseling program prepares students to serve as school counselors in public and private schools for grades K-12, and meets the requirements for a California state credential authorizing service as a school counselor. You will be prepared to work as a school counselor and be eligible for the Pupil Personnel Services Credential from the state of California.

Course work focuses on the theory and skills needed by today's school counselors to work with a diverse population in the areas of:

  • Personal/Social Counseling
  • Academic and Career Counseling
  • Program Development
  • Law and Ethics in Schools
  • Coordination of Supervision and Consultation for students and faculty
