What to Expect: Month by Month

Because each student is unique, we cannot give you an individualized blue print or road map. However, we can tell you that entering students commonly face certain issues during particular times of the year. We hope that the following general, monthly list of some typical new student trials and tribulations, developed in consultation with current, upper-division CUI students, will help you comprehend what your son/daughter may go through during his/her first year at the University. Understand, however, that, while we have placed these issues into specific months, they can occur at any time. Please note that the list was written from the perspective of a student entering CUI in the fall. There will be some fluctuation for students who enroll in January.
