The Disability and Learning Resource Center is committed to ensuring that Concordia University, Irvine is a campus that is welcoming and inclusive of all its students, faculty, and staff.

Mission Statement

The Disability and Learning Resource Center is committed to leading Concordia University, Irvine in creating seamless access through consultation and collaboration and the provision of reasonable accommodations.

Value Statement

Concordia University is dedicated to providing students with disabilities access to the programs, services, and activities of the university as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990) and Amendment (2008) and by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973). Section 504 states: “No otherwise qualified individual shall, solely by his or her disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

Scope of Responsibility

The Disability and Learning Resource Center (DLRC), a part of the Provost’s Office, works with departments throughout the university to assure that the programs and facilities of the university are accessible to every person in the university community. Additionally, the DLRC provides reasonable accommodations, so students with disabilities who are otherwise qualified may, as independently as possible meet the demands of university life. The DLRC also serves the faculty and staff of the university who possess disabilities. Faculty and staff members with disabilities should address employment concerns directly to Human Resources and may utilize the DLRC as a resource for information.
